The Stuyvesants seemingly came out of nowhere this morning with this album. Only 4 tracks in and I’m already certain it will get repeated throughout this rainy day in Brooklyn.

Melody Gardot performed a little after show show at the Rockwood Music Hall Tuesday night. Fantastic as usual. I urge you to go out and listen to her music. Two of my favorites on this album:
I was at a little concert this week and was watching a girl shoot and shoot and shoot and clearly she didn't have very much of a clue as to what to do. Lots of flash and checking the back of the camera after each shot. I snickered but then I thought, "B, you were probably the same way sans digital screen on back and without a clue as to what to do" I just copied what I thought other photographers were doing. So to humble myself here are a few selections from about 8 - 9 years ago when I was blindly stumbling through rolls of ISO 800 film.
Prince at Nationwide Arena – They gave us 30 seconds to shoot. Not the first 3 songs, not one full song, 30 SECONDS!

Sunny Jain - Johnnie Black [audio:johnnie_black.mp3]
I bought two pre-autographed copies of her record last week. The last red record I had (or ebony had) was Salt N Peppa's 'Push It' single. Although it was more burgundy than red if i remember correctly. The record player is a little thing i found on ebay this past Friday.
oh, while i'm here, i guess i could use this forum to complain about her official Many Moons video not being posted online in higher quality i.e. HD resolution. I'm extremely upset at that. She has done such a great job with her visuals and to present her first video in some janky youtube/onsmash set up is all the way wrong. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't or can't be done. Please, someone close to the wondaland camp mention this to her or set me straight and tell me why that is an impossible thing to do. Thanks

About my pick:
Move Ya Body - Mad Skills off the From Where??? album
This dropped in '96 i believe. I must have caught the video on Rap City once and it just stuck in my head. It has that slow hot summertime groove to it.
It kinda spells out how I would like, maybe attempting, to live my life.
